Hello there, friend!
I’m Lunabug. What you will find here is evidence based medical articles dotted with personal anecdotes.
The purpose of this blog, at heart, is to share science-based truth in easy to understand language for all to understand. Everyone should have access to understanding how their medications work, how health systems work, and the truth behind convoluted healthcare policies in order to make the best decisions for their health.
If you’ve stumbled across this blog, it possibly means you were looking for:
- information and advice on living with autoimmune/chronic illness
- scientific data specific to medications/ health conditions/ health services for those with chronic/autoimmune conditions, or
- were just looking for a friendly voice to commiserate and learn with
Whatever the reason, I’d love to share with you this, the culmination of experience living with autoimmune/chronic conditions and the knowledge and understanding of medical terminology/medication mechanism of action/clinical trial studies I’ve gained from working in medicine-based administration positions over my career.
Aside from medical investigations, I also cover topics on financial health and mental health due to their importance in overall wellbeing. If you’d like, you can read the introduction to my story which gives you a view into my own battle with physical health, mental health, and financial stresses.
Something people seldom recognize is that having any chronic illness can be isolating, depressing, confusing and financially draining. It’s so easy to fall into the trap of hating yourself or losing your livelihood.
While I make every effort to provide correct, up to date information, I am still learning. I will double check all facts presented and provide links to research but realize that medicine is a constantly changing science and art. I am simply presenting my views and research results as evidence-based as possible. I welcome any comments, suggestions, or correction of errors. I take no money from drug or device companies. By reading this blog, you agree not to use this blog as medical advice to treat any medical condition in either yourself or others. Consult your own physician for any medical issues that you may be having.
